Starting the week with intention

Home/Blog/Article

Monday has a bad reputation. For many, it means early alarms, heavy routines and a week that feels long before it even begins. But there is another way to live it. A way that does not demand more productivity, but more presence. More connection with what the body needs before stepping into the world.

The power of a mindful beginning

How we start the week sets the tone for the days that follow. If Monday begins with tension, rushing and mental noise, that state will likely carry through until Friday. On the other hand, if we manage to create a space for pause before the pace absorbs us, everything changes. It is not about doing more, but about doing something different: something that brings us back to the body before the mind takes over.

Simple rituals for Monday

A ritual does not have to be complicated. It can be having breakfast without screens, walking ten minutes in the sun, breathing deeply before opening your inbox. What matters is the intention: consciously choosing a gesture of care, however small, before the day decides for us.

Some people choose to meditate. Others prefer to write, stretch their body or simply sit in silence for a few minutes. And there are those who have discovered that the best way to start Monday is with a body therapy: a massage, a Reiki session, a moment of connection with their own body that resets the week's energy.

Monday as a day of reconnection

At Lotus Masajes we chose to offer Reiki on Monday mornings precisely for this reason. It is not a coincidence. It is an invitation to transform the most dreaded day into the most cared-for one. Arriving at a Reiki session on a Monday morning is telling your body: this week starts differently. It starts from calm.

The effect does not end with the session. Those who incorporate this kind of ritual report better sleep quality throughout the week, less reactivity to stress and a general feeling of being more centered, more present, more available for what truly matters.

It is not a luxury, it is a choice

Taking care of yourself is not a reward you earn at the end of a difficult week. It is a choice you can make at the beginning, when everything is still ahead. Starting the week with intention is a way of saying: I choose how I want to move through these days. And that, as simple as it sounds, can change everything.
